The Orbost Poker Run raised another huge sum for Ronald McDonald House Monash despite the dreadful weather and riding conditions on Saturday for yet again another successful charity run.
Now in its 12th year, the annual event attracted 90 motorcyclists and cars from near and far with some coming from across New South Wales and Victoria for the event.
Although numbers were down on previous years, some riders had pillion passengers, taking the registrations higher than 110.
High-risk weather conditions meant committee members and police escorts had to terminate the ride at Marlo, due to concern for rider safety.
“We even had people put on their wet weather gear, ride down to register at McDonalds carpark and go home. They just wanted to make a donation,” committee member Kevin Goudge said.
