After criticism from the community, the Orbost Outdoor Pool will extend its weekend opening hours until the end of the swim season.
The Orbost and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ODCCI) also fought for the opening hours to be extended.
Secretary of the ODCCI, Garry Squires, contacted council to point out the Orbost pool was originally built predominately with community donations to give residents and visitors a safe place to swim instead of the potentially dangerous Snowy River.
Mr Squires also pointed out the pool has, in recent years, been heated with the aim of extending the swimming hours for the community.
President of the ODCCI, Samantha Reynolds, was pleased with the fast response from council, but said the change may have come too late.
