Labour Day is a date on the calendar to be celebrated – the Orbost Agricultural Society’s Orbost Show is held and it’s never a day to be missed.
Much loved by locals and visitors alike, this year was certainly no different with perfect weather leading to streams of cars parked as far as the eye could see.
In its 114th year, the show bought a buzz back to Newmerella Recreation Reserve and judging by the ear-to-ear grin upon Jason Griebenow’s face late in the afternoon, the newly elected president was thrilled with the event.
“All the feedback has been positive; it was a very good show,” he said.
“The numbers through the gate were certainly consistent with the past two years and thanks to a grant we were able to offer free entry again and that makes a huge difference to attracting people.”
