The Orbost area dug deep this year for the Good Friday Appeal, raising an incredible amount of funds to go towards helping sick kids.
“We raised a total of $18,481.40 for the entire Orbost, Marlo and Newmerella area,” organiser, Judy Farley, said.
“It was incredible – that is the highest amount we have ever raised, and it was just such a fantastic day and we were so lucky that the weather held out for us for most of the day.
“The Easter Egg raffle alone raised $1068, which is phenomenal from sitting outside FoodWorks over two days.
“We are so thankful to all of the people who donated.”
The impresive total smashed last year’s final tally of $14,459.
This year’s state total also broke records, with $23,061,320 raised to go towards the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Regional and rural Victoria raised a remarkable $2955,656.
