Worldwide knit in public day was first held in 2005, it is a celebration of knitting and crochet, and an opportunity to share enthusiasm for these crafts in public.
The motto for the day is ‘better living through stitching together.’2024 is the third year that the local Orbost Country Women’s Authority (CWA) branch is celebrating the day and this year are joining forces with the Orbost Service Centre to co-host the fun.
“Our library is a bigger, warmer, and more comfortable venue in which to gather on Friday, June 7 from 10am – 1pm,” member, Rosemary Redden said. “All ages and genders are welcome to join, and bookings are not required, just come along and enjoy the free event with cakes, biscuits and scones galore all baked by the CWA.”
