There was disappointment for the Orbost Snowy Rovers junior netball sides in round 11 of the East Gippsland Football Netball, both suffering defeats in agonisingly close matches.
The under 17s looked to be no chance at half time when they trailed by 10 goals but they rallied in the second half, playing some of their best netball for the season.
The margin was cut back to eight by three quarter time before the Blues scored 14 goals to seven in the final quarter to go down by just one goal in an extraordinary comeback that just lacked the fairytale ending.
The under 15 match saw two evenly matched sides take to the court, both having been victorious on three occasions thus far this season.
Orbost held a narrow one-goal lead at quarter time, but it was the Tigers who capitalised on some vital turnovers at crucial times in the second half to assert its authority.
Wy Yung won four goals, 40-36.
The East Gippsland Football Netball League will enjoy a competition bye this week, with Orbost’s next game on July 13 against Paynesville at AJ Freeman Reserve.
