On Sunday, Nicole Munn from Orbost displayed remarkable bravery by getting a significant tattoo at the local studio, Splash of Colour.
The tattoo held special meaning, as expressed by the studio’s owner, James Brown.
“To do this tattoo was very special indeed, Nicole has every reason to smile as she has recently gone through a barrage of cancer treatment and is still with us,” he said.
The tattoo fee was donated to Gippsland Rotary Centenary House in Traralgon.
This not-for-profit, self-care accommodation facility supports patients and their families who are receiving treatment at the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre and specialist medical services at Latrobe Regional Hospital.
Nicole had utilised the services of Centenary House during her six weeks of radiation treatment and praised the team, “They are an absolutely amazing team of people that make you feel so welcome and offer so much help to so many people.”
Centenary House is an invaluable asset to the Gippsland community, providing affordable, comfortable and supportive accommodation to minimise the stress of traveling for treatment and being such a long distance from home.
The facility includes 30 motel-style guest rooms with full communal amenities such as kitchens, dining rooms, lounges, laundries and outdoor areas, including a children’s playground.
