Orbost Bowls Club farewelled Gaye Clements last week with a special afternoon tea.
There was only one session of social bowls last week, on Wednesday, with two games of 10 ends in seasonal weather.
Competition began in warm and sunny conditions, but by the second match, a cool breeze started up along with the threat of rain, so it was agreed to shorten the second came to eight ends.
The winners, on countback, were Maurice Frank (skip), Greg Rankin and Rob Black.
Sunday’s weather was so atrocious social bowls were cancelled, however any disappointment from this was avoided by the farewell afternoon tea held for Gaye Clements.
The tea was well attended by current and past members of the club with everyone wishing Gaye the very best for her move to Queensland.
