Orbost Hockey Club held its highly anticipated annual trivia night at the Orbost Community College Hall on Saturday, drawing in quiz enthusiasts from across the region.
This event, a staple in the community calendar, serves as the club’s major fundraiser and once again proved to be a roaring success.
The hall was buzzing with excitement as participants took on 10 rounds of diverse categories, testing their general knowledge, musical gem and stone recognition, and problem-solving abilities.
From seasoned trivia pros to first-time attendees, everyone was ready to compete for the top spot.
In a surprising twist, it was the smallest team of the night—humorously named “Team Siri”—that ultimately claimed victory.
With only a few members, the team defied the odds, demonstrating that in trivia, it’s not the size of the team but the quality of the answers that matters.
Team Siri delivered an impressive performance, outsmarting their larger competitors in a tense final round.
Reflecting on the night, event organiser Bree Kenny expressed her gratitude for the community’s support.
“We are so thankful to all the businesses who donated. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to raise well over $2000 for the club,” Ms Kenny said.
As the evening drew to a close, it was clear that this event had once again brought the community together for a night of friendly competition, laughter, and meaningful contributions.
Many participants are already looking forward to next year’s trivia night, eager for another round of questions and camaraderie.
