Orbost Snowy Rovers scored its third win of the season in the reserves, outclassing Paynesville by 79 points in round 12 of the East Gippsland Football Netball League at AJ Freeman Reserve.
The Blues dominated every quarter after setting the tone in the first term, kicking five goals to one, setting it on the path to a decisive win.
Veteran forward Deon Scott played his first match for the season, quickly finding touch and kicking four goals.
Jason Lavell and Jack Sanna were also lively in the forward 50, finishing with three each.
With another win on the board, it’s hoped the boys might gain some confidence and notch up another couple of victories before the season concludes.
Among the best players for the Blues were James Joiner, Angus Davis, Hayden Mitchell, Chris Downward, Lavell and Andrew Kenny.
It was another impressive win by the Blues in the under 17s, eclipsing Paynesville by 98 points.
Orbost is currently sitting in second place on the ladder, nipping away at the heels of ladder leader Lindenow.
It was a great team performance by the Blues, whose field kicking improved as the match progressed.
Early on in the sticky conditions players were content to just boot it forward, making it difficult for players in the forward 50 to mark.
The highlight of the game was the exceptional goal kicking by Kruze Farley, who booted seven goals, including two or three that were definite contenders for goal of the year.
Jacob Farley and Angus Joiner also were prominent finishing with three each.
Named among the best players were Jacob and Kruze Farley, Jack Barnes, Joiner, Cooper Findley and Rex Macalister.
Brayden Fenner battled hard in the ruck and gave his fellow onballers first use of the football all morning.
