Three new vibrant painting exhibitions are opening at East Gippsland Art Gallery at 5.30pm this Friday.
In the main gallery is Deirdre Jack’s exhibition titled Beguiled.
The works in Deirdre’s exhibition have been created over several years, each painting reflecting an emotional connection to the land, capturing a specific time, mood and atmosphere.
Some pieces evoke a sense of stillness, while others embrace vitality and immediacy, where she uses gestural mark-making to convey movement and energy.
“A central theme in my exploration of the landscape is the use of colour and its resonant relationship with neighbouring hues,” Deirdre said of her work.
“Equally important is my attention to the patterns found in nature. The underlying thread throughout my work is a singular, powerful connection to the land — a relationship that continually captivates and inspires me.”
In the East Gallery is Amanda Goodge’s Glimpses of Landscape.
This exhibition is about capturing the essence of the environment, offering viewers glimpses of nature, whether seen from a distance or through the intimate frame of a backdoor.
In the Sideshow and Vault Gallery spaces is the vibrant and joyful work of Josie Jarvis.
Josie grew up in a creatively rich household where artistic expression was encouraged from an early age. Now an active member of the Colour Gang, Josie’s practice spans multiple mediums, with a particular love for acrylics and watercolors.
Her work is known for its whimsical characters and uplifting, joyful themes, reflecting her vibrant outlook on life.
All three exhibitions run until November 30, and entry is free
