It was a busy weekend at the Orbost Golf Club with the staging of the monthly medal and the first two rounds of the club championships.
Saturday’s monthly medal was won by youngster, Mitchell Farley, who had 98 off the stick which converted impressively to a 67 net.
He finished two shots ahead of Keith Voss who had a 69 net.
Sunday’s winner was Brian McDonald on countback from Chris Shanahan, both with net scores of 69.
They both played outstanding rounds, finishing with off the stick scores of 76 and 75 respectively.
The third and final round of the championships will be played this Saturday, with all three grades well and truly up for grabs.
In “A” grade, Matt Shanahan (151) holds a slight advantage over Blake Robinson (152) and Chris Shanahan (154), but that could be whittled away on just one hole.
It’s a similar scenario in “B” grade, with John Cuthbertson (174) out in front and hoping to defy Keith Voss (175) and Peter Farley (177).
The “C” grade title will be decided in a shootout between, Ron Dooley (195) and Laurie Cochrane (197).
The following Saturday will see the playing of RUOK? Day.
The Movember Challenge is well underway, with McDonald cutting his hair and Dooley shaving his moustache for charity dollars.
This will happen on RUOK? Day.
