The 2024/25 Lucknow Cricket Club T20 competition will culminate this Saturday with the playing of finals.
Semi final action will start at 10am with West Bairnsdale playing Paynesville at the Hudson-Alvin Oval and Wy Yung doing battle with Orbost at Bullumwaal Road.
West Bairnsdale and Wy Yung have been the form sides of the competition, both unbeaten in their four preliminary rounds, West easily accounting for Orbost, Lakes Entrance, Metung Swan Reach and the President’s XI, with Wy Yung proving too good for Meerlieu, Lucknow and defending champion Lindenow South Glenaladale.
West has taken its campaign seriously and will be keen to claim its first premiership for 2024/25, while the winning culture that has developed at Tigerland in recent months is sure to see it keen to win the first cup up for grabs.
Both Paynesville and Orbost have snuck into the finals with two wins, a loss and a washout, but both sides will be determined to put up an impressive performance under the watchful of the rest of the Bairnsdale Cricket Association, given it will be their only tilt at silverware this season.
The grand final will be played at 2pm at Hudson-Alvin Oval.
