Fifty bulls will be offered in the Rosskin Angus Stud annual on-property bull sale at 2432 Jimenbuen Road, Dalgety, New South Wales, on Monday, September 1, at noon.
Rosskin Angus Stud is a small stud that is a family-run enterprise whereby the team puts in as much effort as anyone.
“It is frustrating breeding bulls in the Angus breed especially for structure. The past five years we have been selecting sires in the top five per cent for structure and we are noticing the benefit,” a spokesperson said.
“Our female herd is oozing phenotype that only comes with between 40 to 50 per cent of our heifers being retained in the herd.
“When selecting these heifers we are the harshest of critics. The past two years our surplus unjoined 12 to 15 months old heifers have sold on AuctionsPlus for $2220 and $1780 in a lackluster cattle market. We are so proud to show clients our Rosskin females.”
Each year Rosskin Angus Stud puts forward a quality draft of bulls; rising two years of age and yearlings 14 to 15 months old. Last year’s sale averaged $6963 whereby there was a lot of affordable quality bulls in the sale.
“We depend on local Monaro support and the last two years the seasonal conditions have been hard,” they said.
“This year’s draft of bulls will include our first ET bulls from our embryo program that commenced in 2022. Sires: Sitz Stellar, Sitz Dignity, Sitz Resilient, Millah Murrah Paratrooper, Millah Murrah Nectar, Landfall New Ground, Clunie Range Plantation and S Powerpoint.
“We select sires with good growth, thickness and positive fat to suit this hard Monaro climate. These bulls will stand up to the harshest critics and worth an inspection.”
The bull sale is interfaced with AuctionsPlus and every bull is videoed. Rosskin offers free delivery to central points as near to your property as is available within 500kms and where possible directly on farm.
“We at Rosskin Angus Stud are putting more effort in than ever and our sale is getting cheaper. The quality and affordability is not to be overlooked.”
