The Hobie Fishing Series 16 will kick off with round one at Eagle Point from February 26-27.
The anglers will be all rested up, having not hit the water since the Hobie Fishing Series 15 Australian Championship at Camden Haven in New South Wales from November 14-17.
Western Australia’s Joseph Gardner took the crown, backing up his Angler of the Year award and a place in the next Hobie Fishing Worlds.
It will be followed up quickly by round two at Bemm River on March 1-2.
Series 15 kicked off last year at the Bemm River and was won by New South Wales angler, Richard Patterson, whose six fish weighed in at an impressive 5.87 kilograms.
The Bemm River will suit East Gippsland anglers like Steven Pryke, Ruth Beeby and Peter Nord, who all should have the inside mail on where to catch the big ones.
