Works to repair the Fairy Cave Entrance at Buchan Caves Reserve are finished ahead of schedule, with the timber log structure and roof rebuilt and returned back to its former glory.
Tours of the Fairy Cave have since re-started, after temporarily closing while the works were underway.
Areas that were closed for safety during the works, including the F.J. Wilson Walking Track and Caves Road from Bridge 7, have also re-opened.
The structure was significantly damaged in the 2019-2020 Black Summer Bushfires.
A number of assessments and statutory approvals were required to make sure that Buchan’s environmental and cultural values were protected during works, including a Heritage Victoria permit, a cultural heritage management plan, an environmental permit, building permit and geotechnical investigations.
