Despite the bowls being in its off season, social bowls continues to be popular at the Orbost Bowls Club.
Thursday’s social bowls was fun with the wind and overcast skies playing havoc with everyone’s bowls.
In the end it was decided that just the one game of 10 ends was enough.
That didn’t stop some bowlers from showing off great skills and possibly even a bit of class, with no winners were declared instead everyone just had a fun time.
Sundays social bowls, however, was played in perfect conditions, the bright sun and a mild cool breeze saw a lovely relaxed social competition, although the change to playing in the east/west direction as opposed to the usual north/south caused some discussion.
Trevor Perry put down some beautiful bowls, showing the rookies how it’s done.
At the end of the day though it was new president, Bruce Kneebone and his partner for the day, Beryl Dyce who took home the honours.
