Time is running out to catch the Orbost Arts Centre’s fascinating exhibition, Glimpse of the Past, which will close on Sunday, September 29.
This charming and nostalgic showcase features a stunning collection of historical pieces, many contributed by local residents.
Most of these beautiful items are available for purchase, and many have already found new homes.
The idea for Glimpse of the Past came from the success of the recent antique evaluation day, a community event that drew strong interest from across East Gippsland.
More than 150 locals brought in their family treasures and heirlooms for expert evaluation. Attendees were delighted and often surprised by the stories and historical details unearthed by the appraisers.
The exhibition grew from this event, highlighting the region’s rich personal histories and love for collectables.
The current display is a unique window into the past – one that has been embraced and celebrated by the community.
If you haven’t yet seen Glimpse of the Past, now is the time.
Drop into the Orbost Arts Centre before the final weekend in September to enjoy a last look at these treasured items before they disappear from view.
