Bairnsdale’s Forge Theatre was transformed into a vibrant celebration of music and fun last Friday night as fans packed in for the Sing-A-Long ABBA tribute show.
Backed by a five-piece band, the production brought more than 25 of ABBA’s greatest hits to life, with every lyric projected onto a giant screen, inviting the audience to join in.
The atmosphere was electric from the moment the show began, with glow sticks, beach balls and streamers flying around the theatre, creating a party-like vibe that kept everyone engaged.
The audience enthusiastically took to their feet, singing and dancing along to classics like Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Fernando, Ring Ring, Waterloo, S.O.S., Take A Chance On Me, Honey, Honey, Knowing Me, Knowing You and The Winner Takes It All.
One of the standout moments came during Dancing Queen, when the combination of glow sticks, beach balls, and streamers in the air had the crowd fully immersed in the music.
Another highlight was when the cast walked into the audience to sing Fernando alongside the fans, creating an unforgettable interactive experience.
The cast, featuring Chris on guitar and vocals, Megan and Roseablle on vocals, Greg on vocals and keyboard, and Lino on drums, kept the energy high throughout the night, ensuring everyone had a chance to participate and celebrate ABBA’s timeless hits.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many declaring it “the most fun they have ever had in a theatre”.
The enthusiastic response has already paved the way for the show’s return, with the production booked to come back to the Forge Theatre in June 2027.
With its unique mix of audience participation, nostalgic hits, and theatrical fun, the ABBA Sing-A-Long proved to be a night to remember for Bairnsdale music lovers of all ages.
