An Australian Government Mobile Service Centre is scheduled to visit Orbost mid-month, bringing face-to-face support and essential services directly to the local community.
The mobile unit, operated by Services Australia, will be stationed on Ruskin Street, near the library, on the following dates:
– Tuesday, July 14, 2026 – 11am to 4pm
– Wednesday, July 15, 2026 – 9am to 4pm
The travelling service is designed to assist regional and rural Australians who may face challenges visiting physical service centres.
Staff on board will be available to answer questions and provide information regarding a wide range of government payments and services.
The service caters to a broad cross-section of the community, including rural families, older Australians, students, job seekers, people with a disability, carers, farmers and self-employed individuals.
Additionally, staff can help veterans and their families connect with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) phone lines and digital services.
For those looking to transition to digital platforms, staff will also be available to help visitors create a myGov account — a secure, centralised way to access government services online.
Local residents do not need an appointment and are welcome to drop in during the operating hours to speak with a representative.
