Orbost Basketball Association is gearing up for an action-packed winter season, with the first whistle set to blow on Monday, July 13.
The weekly schedule will see the stadium come alive on Monday nights with the under 11s, division one girls and the senior men’s competitions taking to the court. Wednesday nights will belong to the juniors, featuring the under 14s and division one boys’ matches.
A dedicated team of local volunteers has stepped up to coordinate the various divisions for the upcoming season, including Tiffany Hambling and Amanda Dawes (under 11), Dusty Bommer and Graham Millward (under 14), Belinda Borley and Dayne Jorgensen (division one girls), Kristy Herbert (division one boys), and Jason Russell (men’s). Lisa Ross will also return to manage the league’s officiating crew as referee coordinator.
With the domestic winter season locked in, the association is already turning its focus toward the upcoming 2026/27 junior squad representative season.
The association is currently calling for expressions of interest for coaches across all junior age groups, from under 12 through to under 18, for both boys’ and girls’ representative teams. Officials are seeking passionate, committed individuals who are eager to lead, mentor, and develop the region’s rising basketball talent.
Anyone interested in applying for a coaching position or seeking further information is encouraged to contact the club via email.
