Poker run’s coming

19 February 2019
in Local News

Orbost’s 9th annual poker run will take place on Saturday, March 2, and organisers are keen to see motorcycle riders come from all over to support the Ronald McDonald House Monash fundraiser.

Last year the poker run raised more than $31,000 for the charity with around 125 bikes, and a few cars, taking part with a total of 155 poker hands played. A charity auction at the day’s conclusion alone raised $8130.

Since its establishment in 2010, the Orbost Poker Run has raised around $214,000. There will be plenty of prizes up for grab this year with raffles and the auction, one of which is a limited edition print and replica cricket bat, one of only 1500, of Mitchell Johnson’s demolition of England in the 2013/14 Ashes Series. The poker run day is always a full one with lunch, music, raffles and auction adding to the action of a fantastic day of riding scenic roads, all in the name of Ronald McDonald House Monash.

Lunch will be at the Marlo Hotel with entertainment at the run’s conclusion at the Orbost Club Hotel by Split Whiska, along with a charity auction from 7.30pm.

Registration will be at Bairnsdale McDonald’s from 9am with riders heading off at 10am sharp towards Orbost via Bruthen, Lake Tyers, Marlo and Bemm River, one card drawn at each venue.

For further information contact Kevin Goudge or Tim at the Orbost Club Hotel.
