Mike Irvine is a ranger with Parks Victoria in Orbost.
He is also the ‘ranger team leader’ overseeing five other young rangers who work alongside him in the town.
Mr Irvine started with Parks Victoria in 2002, but has worked in the conservation and park management space for 30 years, having started his career with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
Like many rangers employed around the world, Mr Irvine loves his job and takes his responsibilities seriously.
On Saturday, rangers across the globe marked World Ranger Day – a symbolic day to commemorate rangers killed or injured in the line of duty.
