After a $1.82 million upgrade project was announced for Forest Park in 2021, the original plans for the much-loved park have been revised following community input.
Community members were invited to share their thoughts on the draft design with the East Gippsland Shire Council, where they were able to view the design and give feedback at council’s website, customer service centres or face-to-face at a number of in-person sessions.
The Forest Park Project Representative Group convened on Wednesday, March 2, to discuss the community feedback on the project, and made the decision to revise the proposed concept plan, pushing back the project.
The new concept plan has recently been released, with some major changes made to accommodate the community’s needs.
“I’m pleased that locals have been keen to shape the way Forest Park will look in the future and shared their thoughts with council,” mayor Cr Mark Reeves said.
