The annual Marlo Triathlon was dominated on Saturday by Traralgon triathlete, Daniel Barry, who after exiting the water in second place, blitzed the field on the ride and run to win by more than five minutes.
Conditions were ideal in Marlo, as the beachside hamlet packed to brim with holiday makers to cheer on the athletes.
The event is hosted by the Orbost Snowy Rovers Football Netball Club and Rivera Triathlon Club Marlo, with Orbost Snowy Rovers Football Netball Club president, Royston Nettleton, delighted with how the day ran.
“It was great to see the triathlon event held again after a few challenges in recent times, we were appreciative of the large crowd out on the course supporting the athletes, who we thank for making the race what it is,” Mr Nettleton said.
The day kicked off with a kids race (under seven and under 12) at 2pm, which saw the triathletes of tomorrow strut their stuff.
