The countdown is on for one excited nine-year-old boy with a special wish soon to be granted.
Orbost youngster, Victor Albon-Greenwood, has come a long way since the day he was diagnosed with pilocytic astrocytoma, a rare childhood brain tumour, in 2017 at just three years old.
It has been a long, stressful, and heart-wrenching road for Victor and his family. However today Victor’s health is monitored constantly and he can do most things every young boy can have fun doing, including playing football for Orbost’s under 11s when he wears a helmet and a bright vest indicating he is not to be tackled.
Following an application to Make-A-Wish Australia in late 2020, Victor’s Wish was first captured by Make-A-Wish East Gippsland branch volunteers, Brenda Pincott and Bev Sinclair, in May 2021 when they met him and his mum, Conni Greenwood.
Then, working with the local Wish Team, the Make-A-Wish HQ Wish Team jumped into action to create Victor’s special wish – to go on a trip around Tasmania and visit the surfing sushi restaurant, Masaaki.

His beloved dog, Rainbow Sparkles, will remain in Marlo for a holiday away from home. (PS)
