Cave Songs in Buchan

Local Buchan musicians, Raven & the Dove (Cindy Lee and David Swift) return to Buchan Caves for the East Gippsland Winter Festival with their new show Cave Songs: Subterrane this weekend.
Their performance is a 30-minute audio-visual experience blending original music, visual projections, soundscape and spoken word, all set within the natural ambiance and acoustics of the Blackwood Chamber.
Inspired by the cave’s 380-million-year-old creation and set among its limestone landscape, David and Cindy’s performance is an intimate, immersive and truly unique experience.
At a constant 17 degrees the warm, womb-like cave offers a refuge from the winter and Cave Songs: Subterrane invites the audience to experience the dreamlike threshold of being between two worlds: above and below, inside and outside.
“(Cave Songs was) the most magical thing I’ve ever done, ever seen, in terms of musical experiences,” said Wendy Hargreaves 3AW: Weekend Break with Grubby regarding the 2023 Cave Songs show.
Four shows are offered per-day on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.
With last year’s event selling out, tickets will go quickly so book at the Buchan Caves Reserve website to avoid disappointment.
Pair your Raven & the Dove show with another unique event at Caves Park: “Crackers n Dip” with local wellness facilitator, Kirstie Pierce.
Be guided in a cold plunge dip in the famous Buchan Pool and enjoy some sound healing and breathwork to round out your experience.
More information at the East Gippsland Winter festival website.
