The Orbost Basketball Association men’s competition grand final was played last week, with Mudhens successful in the dying seconds. In a close and competitive game, the Spuds, who only had four players, rallied late to almost steal victory, but they couldn’t get the ball to drop in when it was really needed.
The Mudhens were victorious 47-45, with Lachie Tormey leading all scorers for the match with 17, while teammate Mark McDonald was on fire at the corner of the key, finishing with 14 points, with Jordan Ross sinking 12.
Kobe Edwards led the scoring for the Spuds with 16, Grant Balintong shot 11, while Jay Vale, a renowned three point shooter, finished with 10.
As part of the presentations Tormey was presented with the most valuable player trophy and Ross the runner-up.
