The staff at Orbost Bakery have had plenty to celebrate recently as they mark a string of major achievements in the competitive world of baking.
With Bevan hard at work preparing for pie competitions, the local bakery has risen to the challenge and come away with impressive accolades.
Earlier this month, the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, held as part of the Fine Food Australia Expo, showcased some of the finest baked goods in the country.
In the face of fierce competition, Orbost Bakery took home silver for their crowd-favourite traditional meat pastie and a new menu item, the spicy Hawaiian sausage roll.
They also won bronze for their chicken and plain pies, proving that even in a small kitchen big dreams can come true.
Bevan and Amanda, the bakery’s owners, were beaming with pride over the results.
“For such a small bakery, where everything is made in-house by just Bevan and I, this means everything,” Amanda said.
“It shows all our hard work and dedication is paying off, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing parents, fantastic staff, and fabulous customers.
“Thank you all so much—we appreciate it more than you can imagine.”
These recent wins bring the bakery’s total number of awards for the year to eight.
Earlier in the year, the bakery shone at the Baking Industry Trade Show, hosted by the Baking Association of Australia.
They earned three awards there as well, claiming bronze for their classic plain beef pie and silvers for their popular Cheesy Trees and Country Chicken pies.
The Orbost Bakery’s continued success in such prestigious competitions is a testament to the quality and craftsmanship that Bevan and Amanda pour into each of their creations.
As the bakery’s reputation continues to rise, there’s no doubt the people of Orbost will keep coming back for more of the award-winning goodness they’ve come to love, especially now they have launched a new, award-winning pie box where two of each winning pie, pastie and sausage roll can be sampled in one convenient pack.
