The Orbost Exhibition Centre, now called the Orbost Arts Centre, is currently showing artworks from local artists in and around Orbost and Marlo.
These paintings contain a lot of variety and diversity by the many artists in the exhibition.
Ngaere Donald preferred to paint horses and cattle before moving to beautiful East Gippsland where she became seduced by the beautiful rural landscape and the Snowy River coastal estuary.
Ngaere prefers to paint outdoors on site to feel the immediacy of the scene before her.
With Cynthia Boyle, Ngaere has made four trips to WA as artist-in-residence to Beverley and Westonia.
From her travels Cynthia makes art from observations recorded in her sketch books of the flora and fauna.
Lyn Lewis likes to paint every bird that comes into her garden.
Other artists portray wildlife in pencil drawings such as Amie Rae-Lee and Rein Jongkryg from Lakes Entrance. Leanne Kleintz and Peter Honey have paintings, drawing a lot of attention and comment as many others are known by their brilliant colour and composition.
The exhibition closes on October 27 and is one not to be missed.
