It’s a sight most wouldn’t notice while driving into the Marlo township, but locals are fed up with the gravel stacks which have sat next to the Marlo Road for a number of years.
The Marlo Residents and Ratepayers Association (MRRA) have raised their concerns about the gravel and blue metal stacks at the entry to Marlo for more than two years.
In 2020, the association requested the stacks be relocated, and received a response on October 31, 2020 which stated, “Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) will work with council over the coming weeks to identify locations, assess environmental and safety factors, utility services that may be present, vehicle sight-lines, slopes, vehicle access points, abutting landowners/land users and relocation costs with a view to closing down and remediating the current site following the summer resurfacing works should this be feasible.”
Now, more than two years later, the gravel stacks haven’t moved.
